SOCIAL AND RESETTLEMENT SERVICES FOR EAST AFRICAN CRUDE OIL PIPELINE (EACOP) PROJECT – UGANDA SECTION (FOR 4 PRIORITY AREAS)

For this particular assignment, NEWPLAN is the Contractor for the RAP scope limited to 4 priority areas (Main Construction Camps) in Uganda, with the affected area estimated at 70 hectares. 

Some project facts: 

  • The EACOP project will have a significant footprint and require access to over 1000 hectares of land in Uganda.
  • All the studies will be performed to meet the IFC / World Bank / Equator Principal standards.

IMPLEMENTATION OF THE RESETTLEMENT ACTION PLAN (RAP) FOR MUZIZI HYDRO POWER PROJECT

NEWPLAN is the consultant to Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited (UEGCL) in the implementation of the resettlement action plan for the 48MW Muzizi Hydro Power project (HPP).

Some project facts: 

  • UEGCL is developing the 48MW Muzizi Hydro Power project (HPP) at the lower course of the Muzizi River in Western Uganda, South east of Lake Albert. 
  • The powerhouse will be approximately 6km upstream of Lake Albert at the eastern flank of the Albertine Graben.
  • The diversion-type hydroelectric project will be implemented under an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractual arrangement.

CONDUCT A UTILITY CORRIDOR STUDY AND ENVIRONMENTAL BASELINE SURVEY FOR HOIMA - KAMPALA REFINED PETROLEUM PRODUCTS PIPELINE

NEWPLAN was the consultant to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD), Uganda in the Utility corridor study that included detailed pipeline routing. The project also involved a Hydrological Survey and Environmental Baseline Surveys.
